I hate to say that this will be the last day I spent in Phuket, an amazing city I have come to love so easily.

We saved our last day for last minute pasalubong shopping but additionally, our uncle took us to see Yaya, the baby elephant and Tri Trang, the hidden beach.

Hard Rock Cafe, Patong Beach, Phuket

Some quick shots at Tri Trang Beach...

And then we hit another eat-all-you-can restaurant and cooked ourselves Sinigang, Thai style!

And before we knew it, we had to leave for our flight back to Manila and have to depart this amazing country.

Amazing Thailand DAY 6: Last Day In Paradise

After the very tiring but awesome previous day of island hopping, we opted for a more relaxing day. We couldn't waste our precious time though, so we headed to downtown Phuket and strolled around Central Festival Phuket.

On regular days in Manila, I wouldn't be caught dead wearing prints on prints but since I am a tourist, I can wear whatever I want naman kasi turista nga no? Hahaha!

Sawadee ka!

We then went to Big C to grab a bite at their food court.

Sorry I am such a lame tourist because I forgot to take the names of the food we ate but they were all delicious. I am particularly in love with that crunchy noodles with goo-ey sauce. I don't know the name talaga sorry. Hehe. Basta masarap. I cannot say anything bad about their food except that sometimes they are too spicy for my taste and I personally don't eat spicy food.

Ang amazing lang ng food court dito, they'll give you a card that you'll have to deposit amount in it first and then when you order, you give the card to the server and they'll swipe it. So basically, the food is pre-paid. Hehe. And if you have remaining credit on your prepaid food court card, you'll be able to get it once you exit the food cour area.

After satisfying our stomachs with Thai food, we headed to my uncle's apartment and changed clothes for one more night in Bangla!

Since it was our last night, nagpa-importante na kami. We went up on stage while the band is performing and we took a quick snapshot with my uncle's band.

Then we strolled some more, went back to Monsoon for free tequila shots and went to The Pizza Company for their orgasmic pizza that I'll be more than glad to have discovered. They used cream cheese which was, uhm, I am at a lost for adjectives.

There are millions of words on the dictionaries and I cannot string enough of them to tell you how good it was!

With my Mama and his cousin, Tito Butsik.

Carmina and I

I cannot contain myself. I do not know how to begin this fourth in a series blog. Warning, I will be lost for words and I will be using the words 'amazing' and 'awesome' a lot. Because this trip is, well yeah, amazing and awesome.

DAY 4: PHI PHI ISLAND HOPPING!

The mini bus fetched us from my uncle's apartment and picked up the other tourists in our group then dropped us off at Chalong Bay, the starting point of the island hopping tour.

Here are the islands we visited:
- Maya Bay
- Pileh Cove
- Viking Cave
- Loh Samah Bay
- Phi Phi Don
- Khai Nai

Phi Phi Islands is a small archipelago in the Andaman Sea and is administratively under the province of Krabi, Thailand. Do you remember when I said in the part 2 of this blog that you can't say you've been to Patong City if you've never been to Bangla? Well here's the thing: You can't say you've fully enjoyed Phuket if you've never been to Phi Phi! Though Phi Phi is technically a part of Krabi, the drop off point is in Phuket so it's mostly visited by tourists who are staying in Phuket.

MAYA BAY

Maya Bay is a world-famous beach because of its superrrrr fine sand and clear blue waters. It even garnered public attention after it has been chosen by 20th Century Fox as the set for the movie The Beach in year 2000 starring Leonardo di Caprio. It offers a paradise-like feel... wait no, it is an ACTUAL paradise and until now, I still regret that I was only able to bring home sand from Khai Nai and not from Maya, because among the islands in Phi Phi, Maya had the finest. But good thing I'm coming back this December 2014!

The bay is enclosed between rocks which you can see on the panorama below. It is a picturesque small island hidden by nature. A true hidden gem. There is just a small opening where speedboats can pass through to enter the bay.

Sayang because the place was crowded with tourists when we got there but it was perfect. My sister even said that if you're super rich, it would be such a delight to have the island closed and have your wedding be held in it.

PILEH COVE & VIKING CAVE

Sorry I was not able to take a photo of Pileh Cove and Viking Cave because at the former, we just stopped for a while to see the sights, and at the latter, we were not allowed to go down and feed the monkeys by hand because of the high tide at the time. What a bummer! But just for the sake of describing the place, I'll be putting photos here.

(I do not own these photos - from Google)

LOH SAMAH BAY

We then proceeded to Loh Samah Bay to snorkel! I was so excited that I neglected the fact that the tides were too strong. I was too cocky because I can swim well, so I didn't put on my life vest. When I realized that I was being pulled farther and farther away from the boat, I went up to wear a life vest and went back to the water only to be injured...

I still look happy in this photo. Prior to the accident.

You see, since the tide was too strong, it swayed the boat so strong and as I was about to went up the ladder emerging from the water, I hit my head at the corner of the ladder and that's when my mother panicked upon seeing an open wound with blood coming out of it. LOL.

See? It ain't so bad. Anyway, I wouldn't let this injury ruin my vacation so I shrugged it off, what the heck I'm hungry, let's go to the next stop!

The klutz that I am!

PHI PHI DON ISLAND

Next stop was Phi Phi Don island where we stopped over for lunch.

KHAI NAI ISLAND

Now to the last, and my favorite island, KOH KHAI NAI! (The word 'Koh' in Thai means 'island' so you either call it Koh Khai Nai or Khai Nai Island)

I was a little disappointed with the high tide that we were not able to feed monkeys, plus I hurt myself, but all of that went away when I set foot in Khai Nai. It is such a beautiful tiny island where fishes are swimming in the bay and you can feed them.

Paradise, we have arrived!

Compared to Maya Bay, Maya has finer, creamier sand but I love Khai Nai's water more because it's clearer.

Yeah, I went home like three tones darker despite the thick layer of sunscreen, but bar none, this is one of the best days ever: To be at a foreign country, to see and experience places and food and activities I have never done before, just this day alone, made this week-long vacation a trip I will remember forever.

So it also didn't matter that someone stole my Havs in this island. Had to go home barefoot. Che! Hahahaha.

Amazing Thailand DAY 6: Last Day In Paradise

Majority of Thais are Buddhist and so, you can only imagine how important their temples are for them. As a tourist in this place, this is also one of the experiences I am looking forward to even though I am not a Buddhist. It was just so exciting to see their temples!!! Let's go!

On our Day 3 in Thailand, we set out to visit two of the most popular and revered temples in Phuket which are mostly frequented by tourists to pray and pay their respects.

First stop, the Big Buddha Shrine...

BIG BUDDHA SHRINE

The Big Buddha is nestled atop the Nakkerd Hills. It is one of the most admired sites in Phuket and it is so huge that you can actually see the gargantuan white marble figure even though you are still at the foot of the mountain.

To be respectful of the place, if you are wearing something that shows off your shoulders or knees, a caretaker is going to give you a shawl to cover yourself up.

Here's Phuket's majestic Big Buddha!

I met a real-life monk for the first time. He gives his blessings to everyone and this is a one-of-a-kind experience.

Then, it was the perfect timing for a photo op. The Big Buddha Shrine is overlooking the great and vast scenery of the rest of Phuket so you can see most of the province when you get to the top of the mountain.

Then there's the Golden Buddha too!

Big Buddha is filled with bells everywhere. I don't know if it's just the kid in me or it's physics, but when you touch the bells, the sound they make is magical!

Next, we headed straight to Chalong Temples which is just a ten-minute drive from Nakkerd Hills.

The temples were soooo beautiful and are mainly accentuated by colors red and gold. It boasts of amazing statues and wax figures.

(not sorry for the selfie. LOL!)

After which we headed to Pae Ma Nam, which is a floating restaurant just around the area too.

It's a good thing that we have our uncle with us and he has lived here for more than a decade so we know what to eat and where to eat because as you know, knowing what to eat in a particular palce is one thing, but knowing where to eat is another. Pae Ma Nam's food is LOVE in a plate!

Everything served to us was delish. I mean, seriously, the week I've spent in Phuket is witness to how gluttony took over my system. Seriously, their fried rice can be eaten well on its own with shrimps and everything! It also helped that we are dining in the middle of a lagoon. It was breezy and we fed fishes and it was the perfect way to end this tiring and hot day outside exploring temples.
